MAB 청년과학자 상(MAB Young Scientists Awards)은 유네스코 인간과 생물권 계획(Man and the Biosphere Progrmame: MAB) 사업의 일환으로, 청년 과학자들(특히, 개발도상국)이 MAB 연구 및 사업 지역과 생물권보전지역을 연구에 활용하고 기존 연구와의 비교 연구를 장려하고 신세대 과학자들 간의 정보와 경험의 교류를 지원하기 위해 1989년부터 유네스코가 시상해 오고 있습니다. 2006년도 상의 신청을 다음과 같이 공고하오니 관심 있는 분들의 참여를 바랍니다. ○ 신청자격 : 만 35세 이하 (2005. 4. 30 기준) * 한 국가에서 3명을 추천할 경우 한 명은 40세 이하(2005. 4. 30 기준) 가능 (여성 후보자 신청 권장) ○ 연구주제 : 생태계와 물을 주제로 하여 생물권보전지역에서 실행되는 연구를 우선적으로 고려함. (선정 기준은 아래의 관련 웹사이트 참고) ○ 상금(연구지원금) : US $5,000 ○ 연구기간 : 2년 이내 ○ 신청방법 : 아래 웹사이트의 신청양식을 작성하여 MAB 한국위원회(유네스코 한국위원회 내)로 4월 15일까지 이메일(skshim@unesco.or.kr) 또는 우편으로 신청 (신청양식 http://www.unesco.org/mab/capacity/mys/awarmab2.htm) ○ 참고 - 매년 총 10명이 수상자로 선정되며 각국 MAB 국가위원회에서 3명까지 추천할 수 있음. - 수상자의 연구결과는 MAB 간행물로 발행되거나 UNESCO 웹사이트에 게재됨. - 2005년도 수상자 명단과 연구주제는 아래 붙임자료를 참고함. - 한국에서는 2차례 수상함.
