Job opening : English Communications Specialist (English Editor) at the Korean National Commission for UNESCO (KNCU)
KNCU is seeking applicants for an English Communications Specialist with excellent skills in proofreading and editing documents as well as writing official correspondences and documents in English.
1. Job description
a) Editing, proofreading, consulting, writing of English documents, letters, publications, etc. for effective communication
b) Composing and/or advising official correspondences and speeches in English
c) Taking notes and/or records, and composing meeting minutes (conferences, workshops, forums, etc.)
d) Evaluating the English proficiency of job applicants for the Commission or applicants for UNESCO-related programmes
e) Holding an in-house class once a month or quarterly (to be decided upon agreement by both parties) on English speaking and writing, tips on how to effectively compose documents in English and how to prevent and correct common mistakes
g) Agenda (topic) analysis of UNESCO-related matters in preparation of the UNESCO Executive Board Meetings and General Conferences
2. Qualifications
a) Native English speaker currently residing in Korea
b) Valid working Visa (Visa sponsorship may be offered by the Commission, upon further agreement with applicant that pass the final screening process)
c) BA or higher (preference for higher education and/or related degrees – English, Writing, Communications)
d) Editing experience and knowledge/familiarity of the United Nations system and its style of written communication and documentation are highly preferred
3. Conditions of Contract
a) Location: Myeongdong, Seoul
b) Office hours: Monday to Friday, 14:00-18:00
c) Starting date: as soon as possible
d) Monthly Pay: approximately 2.5M KRW/month, negotiable upon contract with applicant that pass the final screening process
