Job opening : KNCU English Editor [part time]
The Korean National Commission for UNESCO is seeking applicants for an English Editor with excellent skills in proofreading
and editing documents as well as writing official correspondences and documents in English.
[Job description]
a) Proofreading, editing, revising and consulting to ensure effective communication of English documents, letters, publications… etc. composed for official use.
b) Other duties may include:
– Composing and/or advising official correspondences and speeches in English when requested by staff members of the
Commission
– Evaluating the English proficiency of job applicants for the Commission or UNESCO-related programmes to examine their
qualifications for training programmes, employment, etc.
– Agenda (topic) analysis of UNESCO-related matters in preparation of UNESCO Executive Board Meetings and General
Conferences.
[Qualifications]
a) Native English Speaker residing in Korea
b) Valid working visa
c) BA or higher (preference for advance degree and/or related degree – English, Writing, Communications)
d) Editing experience and knowledge/familiarity of the United Nations system and its style of written communication and
documentation are highly preferred
[Payment and Conditions]
a) Working hours: 20 hours a week (Monday to Friday, 5 four- hour shifts during the Commission’s regular working hours
are required) Working on-line from home can be negotiated, however the Commission prefers that the Editor communicates
with its staff members at the office.
b) Starting date: 27 October, 2014
c) Salary base: around 2,300,000 won monthly salary (negotiable)
