The Korean National Commission for UNESCO (KNCU) and the Cultural Heritage Administration of the Republic of Korea jointly organized the annual UNESCO Memory of the World (MOW) Training Workshop in Valletta, Malta from September 11 to 14, 2019. It was the first time that the workshop has been held for the Arab region. 

KNCU has been providing regional training workshops since 2006 to help countries develop their capacities to preserve their documentary heritage and register it on the International Register of the UNESCO Memory of the World Programme. The workshops are held in cooperation with the group of experts that participates in the process of evaluation and consultation on MOW inscriptions. 

More than 30 delegates attended this year's workshop, including Ms. Joie Springer, a member of the MOW International Advisory Committee (IAC) and Dr. Seo Kyung Ho, a member of the Register Subcommittee (RSC) of the UNESCO MOW Committee for the Asia and the Pacific (MOWCAP).
