| ‘Climate Change Street Campaign’ organized by participants in KNCU’s youth peace project |

To celebrate International Youth Day on 12th August, participants in ‘UNESCO Pyeonghwa-nuri’, a peace activity project organized by the Korean National Commission for UNESCO, conducted a street campaign in the Myeongdong area of Seoul. About 20 students dressed up as polar bears and penguins and walked around the busy streets of Myeongdong. Ms. Yushin Lee, the main organizer of the campaign, stated, “We want to raise awareness of the need to tackle climate change.” The campaigners also emphasized the role of youth in building a sustainable future, and the need for cooperation from civil society as a whole.
