Handong Global University (joined in 2007)
As the first university in the Republic of Korea to be designated as a UNITWIN host institution, Handong Global University collaborates annually with over 17 universities across countries such as Nepal, Uzbekistan, the Philippines, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Papua New Guinea. Through five core programmes—joint curriculum delivery, entrepreneurship training, start-up capacity enhancement, educational resource sharing, and reinforced UNITWIN support—the university conducts seasonal short-term training, joint curricula, and extracurricular programmes on-site. It also hosts a range of online seminars and workshops aimed at improving the professional knowledge and practical skills of both faculty and students. In addition, short-term training programmes held in the Republic of Korea provide leaders and outstanding students from partner universities with opportunities to broaden their industrial insights. Annual international development conferences and academic symposiums further contribute to strengthening research capabilities and expanding global networks among participants from developing countries.
