Outcome Report

of the SDG-Education 2030 Consultative Groupin the Republic of Korea 

on Implementation of SDG 4 during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Since 2018, with the support of the Ministry of Education, the Korean National Commission for UNESCO has led a consultative group with nine key national institutes in the field of education in order to implement and monitor SDG 4 in the Republic of Korea with regular and consistent cooperation mechanisms.

In 2020, to respond to the education crisis caused by COVID-19, the consultative group has conducted joint research and ongoing discussions with relevant experts on implementation of SDG 4 in the Republic of Korea during the COVID-19 pandemic and suggestions for the post-COVID-19 era. The outcome of this work was presented at the 4th National Forum on SDG4-Education 2030 held on 25 November and was recently published as a report. 

It is our hope that sharing our experience of responding to COVID-19 in the field of education will offer an example of implementing SDG 4 at the national level and prove useful to others.
