Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) under the auspices of UNESCO is a UNESCO Category 2 Centre, working for UNESCO Member States to promote Education for International Understanding (EIU) and Global Citizenship Education (GCED) towards a Culture of Peace. The Centre was established in 2000 according to the Agreement between UNESCO and the Government of the Republic of Korea.

 

APCEIU is seeking to hire a Programme Specialist to contribute to the global and regional programmes in the area of Global Citizenship Education.

                                                                 

 

Overview of the post

 

   Post Title: Programme Specialist

   Employment Type: Regular, full-time position

   Compensations and Benefits: In accordance with the APCEIU’s Salary Regulations

   Workplace: Seoul, Republic of Korea

   Expected Employment Start Date: 28 September 2020 (subject to change, depending on visa issuance process)

   1-year apprenticeship period

   Responsibilities

-         Implement and monitor the ‘Global and Regional GCED Network’ Programme

     Build relations with prospective partners in government, international/regional organizations, civil societies, academia, and the private sector in the field of GCED

     Consolidate recent information and updates from UNESCO, UN and GCED-related partners

     Coordinate drafting of speeches, briefing notes and annual/programme reports, press releases and articles, etc.

-         Perform additional tasks as required and assigned by the Office

 

Required Qualifications

   Education

-        Advanced university degree (Masters or above)

Expected graduates of August 2020 included

 

   Nationality

-        Non-Korean Nationals from the UNESCO Member States in the Asia-Pacific region

   Languages

-        Excellent knowledge in English, both verbally and in writing, and working-level knowledge in Korean

   Skills and Competencies

-        Strong interpersonal and intercultural competence

-        Analytical and problem solving skills

-        Excellent oral and written communication skills

-        Proven ability to work efficiently in a dynamic and multicultural team environment

-        Demonstrated skills in stakeholder engagements and partnerships.

     Self-Introduction in English and Korean (within A4 2 pages each)

 

-        Required documents upon acceptance of the written exam

    Those accepted in the written exam will be required to submit the following documents on the date of the interview

     Copy of all degrees and diplomas (including certificate for expected graduation)

     Copy of all academic records (University degree and above)

     Copy of all work record, language test report, certificates and etc. (if applicable)

    Final successful candidate(s) will be required to submit the original copy of all evidence documents.

    The submitted documents will not be returned to the applicants and discarded after the completion of selection process.
