Colloquium on the Implementation of UNESCO’s 2005 Convention in Asia-Pacific

The Korean National Commission for UNESCO, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Arts Council Korea jointly organized a Colloquium on the Implementation of UNESCO’s 2005 Convention in Asia-Pacific on 27 August at the Westin Chosun Hotel, Seoul, Republic of Korea.

Approximately 50 experts and officials were invited to discuss challenges in the implementation of the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, also known as the 2005 Convention, in the Asia-Pacific region.

Experts from abroad included Mr. Justin O'Connor, a Professor of Creative Industries at the University of South Australia, Ms. Himalchuli Gurung, a Programme Specialist from the UNESCO Beijing Office, Mr. Salman Asif, former advisor to the United Nations, and a number of officials from China, Indonesia and Mongolia.
